After working as a communications director in tech, I decided I needed to reset. I left my cushy 9-5 to breathe and rest and sleep (a lot). Then a few months later I started doing freelance communications and marketing for small businesses.  

I also sat down and wrote this course.

With several years of experience in tech – many of those as a people manager – I wanted to create a program to guide mid-level managers through the process of leading with empathy and advocacy, while also balancing the needs of their organization. 

I’ve lived the full life-cycle of a successful middle manager: from IC to mid-level manager to director. I know what it's like to manage the people on the frontlines and I understand how it feels to have power and yet still not call all the shots. 

I created this course to coach you through all that sticky stuff so you can be a really good manager and lead people well.
